The Galaxy S25 was the first lineup to receive the complete version of One UI 7, and it has proven to be an excellent OS. Historically, new One UI versions exit beta soon after a new phone launch, which in this case would have been the S25 series. However, Samsung has opted to extend the process, meaning Galaxy S24 users will have to wait a little longer.
A post from Ice Universe on Twitter/X indicates that the next major update for One UI 7 will be the fourth beta version rather than the official release. This suggests that Samsung is still not entirely confident about rolling out One UI 7 to the Galaxy S24 or any other device just yet.
The post includes a screenshot of a response from a beta testing admin, addressing a bug in One UI 7 that causes the screen to turn yellow due to incorrect color mode. The admin stated that this issue would be fixed in Beta 4, implying that at least one more beta version will be released before the final update.
This delay isn't necessarily a bad thing. In the grand scheme of things, waiting a few extra weeks for a stable One UI 7 update is better than getting a flawed version that causes performance issues or lags on your device. It's unclear why Samsung made this decision, but it may have been part of the plan all along.
Sources suggest that the "official version is still quite far away," though this might be an exaggeration. The most realistic expectation is that Samsung will upgrade One UI 7 from beta within the next few weeks to a few months. A rollout in Q4 2025 would be considered a "long delay," but it's unlikely to take that long.
