Condemning the Israeli attacks on Iran in the strongest terms, the Prime Minister said that these strikes were a blatant violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as of the UN Charter and international law. He emphasized that Iran has the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing and brutal campaign of genocidal violence against the courageous Palestinian people. He urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and credible steps to end Israel’s aggression and unlawful actions.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace in the region and expressed readiness to play a constructive role in this regard.
President Pezeshkian thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s support and solidarity with Iran during this difficult time, particularly at the UN Security Council. He noted that this reflects the close and brotherly ties between the two countries.
He also briefed the Prime Minister on Iran’s perspective regarding the crisis with Israel and called on the international community, especially Islamic countries, to work together to confront these threats. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
