Claude AI now offers desktop apps and dictation support

Claude AI now offers desktop apps and dictation support Anthropic's AI-powered chatbot, Claude, now includes desktop applications. Anthropic is launching Claude apps in public beta for both Mac and Windows, bringing Claude’s capabilities directly into users' preferred work environments, as stated in a blog post. However, these desktop capabilities currently don’t include Anthropic's recently announced “computer usage” feature, which allows the latest flagship model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, to perform tasks on your computer. The desktop apps are available to both free Claude users and subscribers to Anthropic's premium plans. Anthropic has also introduced a dictation tool for Claude, although this feature isn’t yet part of the new desktop apps. On iOS, Android, and iPadOS, users can record and upload messages up to 10 minutes long for Claude to transcribe and respond to. This is not a conversational mode but is similar to sending a voice message. These updates come as Anthropic is reportedly raising billions in funding, bringing its valuation over $40 billion, with a vested interest in making Claude competitive with rivals like OpenAI's ChatGPT.
