On the web, you can access this by visiting the Explore Gems page in the side panel at: gemini.google.com/gems/view. In your My Gems list, items now feature a share button next to the edit (pencil) icon. (This feature is not yet available on mobile.)
Recipients who open the link will see the chat page immediately, along with a banner at the top reading “This Gem has been shared. Instructions may change.” Once they add their own prompt, it gets stored under a new Shared with Me section in the Gem Manager. The overflow menu provides options to make a copy or view/edit the instructions.
Once you share a Gem, a new Gemini Gems folder will automatically appear in your Google Drive. Google explains that these Gems are protected using standard Drive permissions, and any updates will sync across both Gemini and Drive. The files also feature the Gemini icon, and tapping them opens them directly in gemini.google.com.
