Pakistan remains on FATF's gray list until June to meet the conditions
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has decided to keep Pakistan on the gray list and has given a deadline of June 2021 to meet the conditions.
The President of FATF said that Pakistan has made full progress on the proposals, completed 24 out of 27 points, partially implemented 3, some things need to be further improved, shortcomings were found in the field of terror financing, Islamabad will also be monitored. After 4 months, we will see how sustainable the implementation of Pakistan's action plan is.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance said that the FATF appreciated the progress made on the overall implementation of Pakistan's Action Plan. The FATF Plenary Virtual Meeting was held in Paris from February 22 to 25. The participants discussed the implementation of Pakistan's Action Plan.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Chairman FATF Quarterment Committee, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Muhammad Hamad Azhar. Other members of the delegation included Foreign Ministry, NICTA, MFU, National FATF Secretariat and other senior officials. ۔
According to the FATF meeting held on February 25, the FATF said that Pakistan has made progress on all the points of the action plan while 24 out of 27 points have been fully implemented. He lauded the continued commitment of Pakistan's top leadership to prevent it.
