Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court has ordered the production of PTI leader Shehbaz Gill's brother by August 6, stating that the responsibility for enforced disappearances falls on the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb issued a written order in the case of the recovery petition filed for PTI leader Shehbaz Gill's brother, Ghulam Shabbir.
In the written order, Justice Aurangzeb stated that the parties have done nothing to recover the missing citizen. The Interior Secretary is directed to use all resources to ensure the recovery and court appearance of Ghulam Shabbir.
The order mentioned that during the hearing, representatives of the Assistant Attorney General, Ministry of Defense, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other agencies appeared, all unanimously expressing ignorance about the whereabouts of the abductee.
Justice Aurangzeb said that the government's claim of ignorance about the abductee's location indicates the issue of enforced disappearance.
The Islamabad High Court ordered the recovery and presentation of Ghulam Shabbir in court by August 6 and stated that the responsibility for enforced disappearances lies entirely with the Prime Minister and his Cabinet.
Justice Aurangzeb stressed in the order that it is crucial for the Prime Minister to take urgent measures to curb this heinous practice of enforced disappearances.
The order noted that the parties have done nothing for the recovery of the missing Ghulam Shabbir. During the hearing, representatives of the Assistant Attorney General, Ministry of Defense, FIA, and other agencies appeared.
The order also stated that all agency representatives unanimously expressed ignorance about the whereabouts of the abductee, indicating the issue of enforced disappearance by the government.
Justice Aurangzeb has issued a written order on the petition for the recovery of Ghulam Shabbir.
