According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited Wana, South Waziristan. On this occasion, the Army Chief acknowledged the significant role played by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism.
The Army Chief paid tribute to the sacrifices of the security forces and law enforcement agencies and thanked the tribal elders for their support in the war against terrorism.
On this occasion, the Army Chief expressed his commitment to utilizing all resources for the development and prosperity of the public. He also appreciated the cooperation of the people in various projects in South Waziristan.
Army Chief General Asim Munir stated that the Pakistan Army will continue to thwart the nefarious designs of enemy forces and their facilitators while providing continuous support and technical assistance to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies, especially the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
General Syed Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and development projects.
While speaking with officers and soldiers, the Army Chief praised their high level of readiness and extraordinary courage in facing threats from enemies of the country. He reiterated that the Pakistan Army will continue to foil the malicious intentions of enemy forces and their facilitators.
General Asim Munir paid heartfelt tribute to the security forces and law enforcement agencies who sacrificed their lives while fulfilling their duties.
The Army Chief also acknowledged the role of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in maintaining peace and completing various projects under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan. He stated that the Pakistan Army would continue to utilize its resources for the prosperity and development of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Army Chief expressed his gratitude to the tribal elders for their support in the war against terrorism and their unwavering support for the Pakistan Army.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Wana, the Corps Commander Peshawar warmly welcomed the Chief of Army Staff, where he laid a wreath at the Martyrs' Monument and paid tribute to the martyrs.
