PTI central leader Asad Qaiser has reacted to the proposed judicial package. Asad Qaiser said that the government is trampling parliamentary traditions to control the judiciary. He claimed that the government is about to make the worst constitutional amendments in history and is even hiding the draft of these amendments from its allies.

He further stated that, in the past, constitutional amendments were made solely in the public interest, but now this fake government is using parliament as a shield to protect its illegitimate mandate. He emphasized that the government does not have the two-thirds majority required for constitutional amendments.

The PTI leader also accused the government of trying to kidnap and pressure their members to obtain a two-thirds majority. He vowed that PTI will strongly resist these fake amendments and attacks on the judiciary both in parliament and among the public.

Numbers are Complete, Constitutional Amendment Will Be Presented in the House Tomorrow: Barrister Aqeel Malik

PML-N leader Barrister Aqeel Malik said that the constitutional amendment will be presented in the house tomorrow, and the required numbers for the amendment are complete.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Barrister Aqeel Malik said that the constitutional amendment is not for a single person; the retirement age of all judges will be increased. He clarified that if the retirement age is extended, no one will be wronged.

He further said that the government is working with a positive mindset on judicial reforms, and three to four options are in their final stages. However, it has not been finalized which options will be introduced.

Barrister Aqeel Malik also mentioned that drafts for law and legal reforms have been prepared. Currently, 2.2 million cases are pending in the judiciary. He pointed out that the Supreme Court has declared 41 members as independent, and these independent assembly members are neither grounded nor in the air (referring to their uncertain political position).
