Some details regarding the proposed constitutional amendment have been shared by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

During a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister for coalition parties, Ishaq Dar informed the attendees about the amendment, stating that a constitutional court will be established within the Supreme Court.

He explained that the amendment is being made with the proposal to establish a separate court to handle matters of public interest.

Sources mentioned that the dinner was attended by members of the Pakistan Peoples Party, MQM, Balochistan Awami Party, and others, who assured the Prime Minister of their support for the constitutional amendment.

The Prime Minister also instructed the members to ensure their attendance in Parliament tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has called a federal cabinet meeting at 11:30 AM to approve the draft of the constitutional amendment, which will then be presented in the Senate session in the evening.

It is noteworthy that the government needs the support of 8 additional members to secure a two-thirds majority for the approval of the amendment. Despite gaining the support of JUI, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has so far been unable to convince Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Government Decides to Present Constitutional Amendment in National Assembly and Senate Tomorrow

The government has decided to present a constitutional amendment in the National Assembly and Senate tomorrow. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif informed members of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and allied parties about the amendment during a dinner.

The dinner was attended by members of MQM, Balochistan Awami Party, National Party, and other coalition partners. According to sources, the Prime Minister briefed the attendees about the upcoming constitutional amendment, which will be presented in the National Assembly and Senate tomorrow.

Sources also reported that the Prime Minister instructed all members to ensure their presence in Parliament tomorrow.

Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a special meeting of the federal cabinet tomorrow. Sources mentioned that the cabinet will approve the constitutional amendment package during this meeting, as it is necessary to obtain cabinet approval before presenting the amendment in the National Assembly and Senate.

Reports indicate that the Ministry of Law and other relevant ministries have completed work on the draft of the constitutional amendments. After receiving approval from the cabinet, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar will present the amendment in the National Assembly.

It's noteworthy that sessions of both houses of Parliament were called today, and holding a session over the weekend is unusual. Normally, such sessions are called for budget sessions or other sensitive issues.

Although the formal agenda for the National Assembly session did not mention the amendment, such matters are often included in a supplementary agenda presented to the house.
