A shocking murder has occurred in Switzerland where a husband allegedly killed his wife and made a gruesome attempt to dispose of her body.

Former Miss Switzerland finalist Kristina Joksimovich was allegedly murdered by her husband, who then dismembered her body and dissolved the parts in chemicals.

Sky News reported that the 38-year-old former model was found dead in the laundry room of her home in Benningen on February 13, located about two miles southwest of Basel.

The prosecution has revealed that Thomas first strangled his wife. Furthermore, a former associate claimed that Thomas had once grabbed the beauty queen by the neck and slammed her head against a wall.

The former Miss Switzerland finalist, Kristina Joksimovich, who was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, had been dismembered and declared 'pure' by him. Friends had described her and her two daughters as a 'perfect family.'

The 38-year-old model's body was discovered in February at her home in Benningen, near Basel. Her husband later confessed to the crime, claiming it was done in 'self-defense,' and stated that he had dismembered her body in a fit of panic in the laundry room.

One of Kristina’s friends told local news outlet 'Blick,' "To me, they seemed like a perfect family. I am deeply saddened."

Kristina’s husband, Thomas, had his request for release from custody denied by the Federal Court in Lausanne on Wednesday. The investigation had found 'solid indications of mental illness.'

Kristina's body was found on February 13, and investigators reported that she had been strangled to death.

Friends expressed their shock and grief on social media, with many leaving heart-wrenching comments on her Instagram posts.

Miss Switzerland 2006, Krista Reguozzi, wrote online, "Words cannot express the sorrow. Rest in peace, my love."

"Silent. 2018 winner Justina Dorin Reiderer added, "Rest in the peace of God."

Kristina had shared photos of the couple celebrating their first wedding anniversary in 2018, a year after their 2017 marriage. Earlier posts had referred to her husband as "my rock" and proudly announced her second pregnancy.

Nadine Wenzens, Miss Switzerland 2002, who was friends with Kristina, told Nau.ch, "I knew Kristina well and had met her briefly. I am completely shocked and heartbroken."

Who was Kristina Joksimovich?

Born in Benningen with Serbian heritage, Kristina Joksimovich began her career in modeling, winning the title of Miss North West Switzerland in 2003 and becoming a finalist in the Miss Switzerland competition in 2008.

Later, she transitioned into coaching, empowering aspiring models and businesswomen to build confidence and enhance their personal and professional presence.

Additionally, she successfully ran a coaching agency and worked at an IT firm.
