Sindh Cabinet Approves Free Birth Certificate Provision

The Sindh Cabinet has approved the decision to provide free birth registration services under the Government of Sindh.

The provincial cabinet also approved a punishment of 14 years imprisonment and a fine of 2 million rupees for the production and use of premises for drugs. Additionally, a penalty of 1 to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of 1 million rupees was approved for drug possession.

After the meeting, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the new birth registration initiative aims to make the registration process easier and more accessible for disadvantaged communities.

He explained that the free registration service will help collect accurate demographic data and ensure the legal identification of every individual in the province, which will also address issues like child labor, human trafficking, and underage marriages.

Sharjeel Memon added that the penalties for cultivating drug-related crops are based on recommendations from the Excise and Narcotics Department.

He emphasized that the new legislation on drugs is not just a policy but a declaration of war against those involved in the drug trade.

The provincial minister also announced that there will be an intensified crackdown on individuals involved in the drug business.

He reiterated that the free registration service will help collect accurate demographic data, provide long-term benefits, and ensure the legal identification of every individual in Sindh.

The Sindh Cabinet also approved a 7-year prison sentence and a fine of 500,000 rupees for the cultivation of crops associated with banned drugs.

According to the cabinet's decisions, there will be 14 years imprisonment and a 2 million rupee fine for drug production and use of premises, while drug possession will result in 1 to 7 years imprisonment and a 1 million rupee fine.
