Imran Khan Still Holds Control Over National Politics: Pervaiz Elahi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former Chief Minister of Punjab, Pervaiz Elahi, has claimed that the key to politics in Pakistan still lies in the hands of PTI's founding chairman and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.

During the hearing of a corruption reference regarding developmental projects in the accountability court in Lahore, Pervaiz Elahi appeared in court in a wheelchair and marked his attendance.

During the hearing, Muhammad Khan Bhatti filed a request to be discharged from the reference. His lawyer argued that Bhatti did not gain any financial benefit, and therefore, the court should order his discharge from the case.

The accountability court, after asking the lawyers for arguments, adjourned the hearing until October 17.

Meanwhile, the special anti-corruption court also held a hearing on the case of alleged illegal recruitments in the Punjab Assembly.

Pervaiz Elahi and other accused appeared in court, but co-accused Haider did not attend, leading the court to issue arrest warrants for him.

In an informal conversation with the media, the PTI leader said that the PTI founder is no longer just a leader of Pakistan but a leader of the entire Islamic world. "The real speech at the United Nations was given by the PTI founder," he added. "Like every true Pakistani, my family and I stand firmly with the PTI founder."

Pervaiz Elahi stated that the current political instability is a result of not recognizing the electoral mandate of PTI. "The key to politics in Pakistan still lies in the hands of the PTI founder, and now the clouds of oppression are about to clear."

He also remarked that "what was Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supposed to say at the United Nations? The real speech was by the PTI founder."

Pervaiz Elahi further claimed that no government has caused as much damage as the current one. "Just look at the condition of farmers; all of my projects have been shut down."

The PTI leader added that the Health Card was a PTI initiative, but it has also been discontinued. He further stated that this government has made electricity expensive, making life difficult for the people.
