The announcement was made during the third edition of the "1 Billion Followers Summit," an event targeting influential individuals, named after the combined reach of over 1 billion followers represented by the participating creators.
Organizers claimed this is the world's largest event dedicated to the creator economy.
Actor Asad Raza Khan, who received his Golden Visa in the actor category in 2022, highlighted that the UAE has always championed the promotion of skills, whether in content creation, acting, or writing.
“They are now offering nearly 10,000 Golden Visas under a 10-year residency program, enabling people to move to this incredible country,” he said.
He added that the UAE launched the Performing Arts Golden Visa program two years ago to encourage technical experts in arts and entertainment to relocate, live, and create opportunities in the country.
“This initiative will help generate ideas, create content opportunities, and facilitate learning across many training subjects,” he further explained.
The program is not limited to social media influencers. It is designed to attract and support talented creators, including digital content creators, enablers, podcasters, and visual artists.
It also targets key players in creative industries such as advertising and marketing firms, media and music producers, animation studios, and fashion and lifestyle brands.
The initiative aims to establish a fully integrated creative ecosystem by collaborating with tech companies, including social media platforms, streaming services, gaming and esports firms, developers, and AI and machine learning startups.
Entrepreneurs specializing in software development, talent management, and media innovation are also a major focus of this program.
According to Forbes, Dubai is positioning itself as a creator-friendly destination with world-class infrastructure, tax benefits, and exclusive support for digital content creators.
If Dubai successfully attracts its target of 10,000 influencers, the initiative could establish the city as the world’s leading hub for digital content creation. It would also contribute to the UAE's economic diversification goals and strengthen its position in the global digital economy.
