Following prior clues during the Pixel 10 launch event, when Google alluded to long-awaited improvements to its smart home ecosystem—including its first new Nest speaker hardware in years—the announcement was made in a brief post today. Since then, leaks have revealed an entire wave of Nest devices, including refreshed Nest Cams.
Now, Google has locked in a date. On X (formerly Twitter), the company told users to “come back on October 1” for Gemini-related updates within Google Home. The teaser simply read, “Gemini is coming to Google Home,” and directed viewers to the Google Store, where a signup page for hardware news is now live.

Importantly, this marks the first official glimpse of Google’s next-generation Nest Cam. The teaser shows what appears to be an indoor model—similar to existing versions but with a noticeably redesigned sensor housing. Previous leaks suggested the camera will include a 2K video upgrade, with similar improvements expected across the outdoor camera and video doorbell lineup.
Industry watchers expect Google’s October reveal to showcase multiple new Nest Cam products, a new Gemini-powered smart speaker, and deeper integration of Gemini into the Google Home ecosystem.
