Heavy Trailer Claims Another Life in Karachi, Second Motorcyclist Severely Injured

A heavy trailer claimed another life in the city as a speeding vehicle struck a motorcycle near Northern Bypass in Surjani Town, resulting in the death of one young rider and severe injuries to another.

The tragic accident occurred near the Attock Pump checkpoint on the Northern Bypass in the jurisdiction of Surjani Town Police Station. A speeding trailer hit the motorcyclists, killing one on the spot and seriously injuring the other.

The injured were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital via Chhipa ambulance, where the deceased was identified as 16-year-old Muhammad Owais, son of Muhammad Sadiq, while the injured was identified as Muhammad Naeem.

According to SHO Surjani Town, Ghulam Hussain Pirzada, the deceased was a resident of Jahangirabad Goth in Gulshan-e-Maymar. He, along with his friends, was riding on two motorcycles from Gulshan-e-Maymar to a canal in the Manghopir police jurisdiction for a swim when a speeding trailer hit them near the Attock Pump checkpoint on the Northern Bypass and fled the scene.

The SHO further stated that police have launched a search operation to locate the trailer.
