Police Martyrs Day Being Observed Nationwide to Honor Fallen Officers and Personnel

Various ceremonies were held in different cities, paying tribute to the brave police officers and personnel who sacrificed their lives for the country’s internal security.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued messages paying tribute to the police martyrs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Police Martyrs Day is a day to remember the courage and bravery of the valiant police officers and personnel.

President Asif Zardari praised the exemplary courage and sacrifices of the police personnel who laid down their lives for the nation.

Lahore:

The main ceremony was held at the Police Training College Lahore, with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar as the chief guest. 

Many families of police martyrs attended the program held at the college auditorium. Dr. Usman Anwar distributed 65 laptops among the children of police martyrs with excellent academic performance. 

The children were also encouraged with bicycles and other gifts. They presented poems and tribute essays in memory of the martyrs. Dr. Usman Anwar paid a befitting tribute to the unmatched sacrifices of the police martyrs.

Rawalpindi/Islamabad:

In Rawalpindi, a dignified ceremony was held at the Martyrs Memorial with RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa, CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani, senior officers, and relatives of the police martyrs in attendance. Senior officers and a smart contingent of police presented a salute.

In Islamabad, a smart contingent of police presented a salute at the Martyrs Memorial in Police Lines. Secretary Interior Khurram Agha laid a wreath, accompanied by DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, DIG Security Jawad Tariq, and other police officers. The families of the martyrs were specially invited to the salute ceremony.

A special ceremony was also held at the Motorway Police Headquarters in Islamabad, attended by senior officers, employees, families of the martyrs, and the son of martyred Sub-Inspector Muhammad Amin, ASP Sohaib Amin, as the chief guest.

Inspector General Salman Chaudhry welcomed the families of the martyrs as chief guests. Tributes were paid to the martyrs of the Motorway Police and other law enforcement agencies.

Karachi:

DIG Traffic Karachi Ahmed Nawaz attended the Martyrs Memorial, laid a wreath, and offered prayers. A smart contingent of police presented a salute at the memorial.

Quetta:

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti attended the Martyrs Memorial at the Central Police Office Quetta and laid a wreath. Speaking at the event, he paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the province's peace and assured full support to their families.

Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Balochistan Ghazala Gola, provincial ministers Raheela Hameed Durrani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Interior Zahid Saleem, IG Police Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, IG FC North, and the families of the martyrs also attended the ceremony.
