Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI, which focuses on building tools for autonomous AI agents, has reportedly raised $75 million in a funding round led by Benchmark, valuing the company at approximately $500 million, according to Bloomberg.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports that Moonshot plans to use the newly raised capital to expand into international markets, including the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.
This latest round significantly boosts Moonshot’s valuation. Previously, the company had secured over $10 million from backers such as Tencent and HSG (formerly Sequoia China).
Moonshot gained attention in March after debuting a demo of its general-purpose AI agent capable of completing multiple tasks. However, in early tests by TechCrunch, the agent's performance fell short of its marketing claims. The company later rolled out subscription plans priced between $39 and $199 per month.
