Upon arrival at the Darshani Deorhi, the delegation received a warm welcome from prominent members of the Sikh community, who presented them with flowers. Mohsin Naqvi and U.S. Congressmen Thomas Suozzi and Jonathan Jackson congratulated the Sikh community on the occasion of the Baisakhi festival.
During their visit to Gurdwara Sahib, Minister Naqvi and the American delegation viewed various items associated with Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They were also given a detailed briefing on the Kartarpur Gurdwara Sahib and its significance.
Mohsin Naqvi and the U.S. Congressmen participated in a prayer ceremony at the Gurdwara Sahib and visited the historic well. The delegation was honored with traditional Siropas (robes of honor) and presented with Kirpans (ceremonial swords).
Sikh pilgrims from India also met with Mohsin Naqvi and the U.S. delegation. Members of the Sikh community took photographs with them. The guests then visited the Langar Hall, where they shared a meal sitting alongside the Sikh community.
The U.S. delegation praised the facilities at the Kartarpur Corridor and Gurdwara Sahib, expressing their joy at being part of the Baisakhi celebrations.
Congressman Jonathan Jackson remarked that Pakistan has made excellent arrangements for Sikh pilgrims at the Kartarpur Corridor and Gurdwara Sahib.
The U.S. delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in hosting the event. Minister Naqvi and the delegation also visited the Zero Point and emphasized that providing the best facilities for Sikh pilgrims is a top priority for the government. They noted that obtaining visas for Sikh pilgrims has been made easier.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan welcomes more and more Sikh pilgrims to visit their sacred sites. He emphasized that Pakistanis are loving and peaceful people who treat followers of all religions with respect and dignity.
