Iran Assures Justice for the Killing of 8 Pakistanis

Iranian Foreign Minister contacted Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar via telephone to discuss the tragic killing of 8 Pakistanis in Iran. Abbas Araghchi assured Ishaq Dar that those involved in the incident would be brought to justice.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke with Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar regarding the incident.

The spokesperson confirmed that both sides discussed the killing of the 8 Pakistanis in Iran.

Expressing condolences over the incident, Abbas Araghchi assured full cooperation in ensuring justice for the victims and facilitating the repatriation of their bodies.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also briefed Ishaq Dar on the April 12 talks between Iran and the United States held in Oman. Ishaq Dar appreciated and encouraged the negotiation process.

It is worth noting that on April 12, eight Pakistanis from Bahawalpur were killed in a terrorist firing incident in the village of Bez Abad, located in Iran’s Sistan province.

Among the victims, six were residents of Khanqah Sharif — Dilshad, Danish, Jafar, Nasir, Naeem, and Amir. Dilshad, his son Danish, and nephew Jafar belonged to the same household. The other two victims, Muhammad Jamshed and Muhammad Khalid, were from Tehsil Ahmedpur Sharqia.
