Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif: "We will do whatever is possible to resolve the matter of 67,000 Hajj pilgrims"

Regarding the issue of 67,000 Hajj pilgrims, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Saudi authorities will be contacted for the pilgrims under the private scheme, and whatever is possible will be done to resolve the matter.

According to details, on the possible deprivation of 67,000 Pakistani Hajj pilgrims, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, members of the Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, and representatives of private Hajj operators met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The delegation sought the Prime Minister's assistance in sending the pilgrims for Hajj. Federal Minister Sardar Yousaf, Chairman Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, committee member Bushra Butt, and HOAP representatives informed the Prime Minister about their stance.

In the request, the delegation urged the Prime Minister to play a role in resolving the matter of the Hajj pilgrims and further appealed that Shehbaz Sharif seek permission from the Saudi authorities for the private quota pilgrims.

According to sources, the Prime Minister assured full cooperation and efforts on the matter of private scheme pilgrims.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed displeasure over the Hajj crisis, criticizing the private operators and officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He said that the issue of private scheme pilgrims is a source of embarrassment for us.

Shehbaz Sharif further stated that Saudi authorities will be contacted for the private scheme pilgrims and that all possible efforts will be made to resolve the issue.
