PTI decides to seek Imran Khan’s approval before passing KP Mines and Minerals Bill

The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided that the Mines and Minerals Bill will only be passed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly after obtaining approval from Imran Khan.

The committee was informed that the bill has already been presented in the KP Assembly and is currently under discussion. However, it was emphasized that the bill will be fully aligned with Imran Khan's agenda, manifesto, narrative, and public aspirations. The bill will only be passed after detailed consultation, formal approval, and confidence from party leader Imran Khan.

According to a statement issued by PTI's political committee, a detailed meeting was held on the Mines and Minerals Bill currently under debate in the KP Assembly. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur presented a comprehensive and detailed explanation of all the key points of the bill.

The committee reviewed all aspects of the bill and unanimously agreed that there is no clause in the bill that transfers provincial autonomy, rights, or mineral resources to the federation, SIFC (Special Investment Facilitation Council), or any federal institution. It was agreed that positive suggestions from all stakeholders would be welcomed, and consultations with other parliamentary parties will continue before the bill is passed.

The committee was informed again that while the bill is under discussion in the KP Assembly, it will only move forward with Imran Khan’s full consultation, formal permission, and confidence, ensuring alignment with his vision and public expectations.

The meeting also decided that there was no haste in the process of the bill, nor will there be any in the future. In line with Imran Khan's instruction from the April 8 meeting, those who meet with the Chairman are strictly prohibited from discussing the details or instructions of the meeting with the media.

As per Imran Khan's directive, individuals who meet him must submit his instructions in writing to the party's central Secretary of Information. Only the central Secretary of Information is authorized to release such written instructions or statements. Any statement released by others will not be considered official or credible.

Party office bearers have been instructed to avoid making public statements against each other. Any violations will result in the issuance of a show-cause notice, and those holding party positions may have their responsibilities revoked.

In the meeting, Barrister Gohar was briefed on the powers of the Chief Organizer of Punjab. It was also directed that a six-member advisory committee be formed to work with the Chief Organizer.
