Most of those arriving from Iran are pilgrims; however, 45 students are also among them.
Sources said that the pilgrims and students who arrived in Taftan from Iran will be sent to Quetta.
It is worth noting that a day earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had stated that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani pilgrims from Iran had been completed, and arrangements were also being made for the evacuation of Pakistani students residing in Iran.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that in view of the current regional situation, the Government of Pakistan is taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of Pakistani citizens.
He added that arrangements are also being made for the safe evacuation of Pakistani students residing in Iran.
He further stated that in the first phase, 154 students would be evacuated, while the Pakistani Embassy in Iran is also in contact with Pakistani pilgrims stranded in Iraq and efforts are underway to ensure their safe accommodation and possible evacuation. Meanwhile, the Crisis Management Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains operational 24/7.
