🔄 What’s New in Android 16 on Galaxy Devices
While Android 16 brings a bold Material You 3 Expressive redesign to Google’s Pixel lineup, the update is more evolutionary than revolutionary on Samsung devices. That’s largely because One UI 7 already delivered a major design overhaul, so One UI 8 focuses on new features, refinements, and functional improvements rather than a full redesign.
Here are some of the most notable changes:
-
Now Bar and Now Brief widgets are expanding to more Galaxy devices
-
Updated Samsung apps, including Weather, Files, and others
-
90:10 split-screen multitasking for faster switching between apps
-
Improved and more precise camera controls
-
Gemini Live support in Flex Window mode for Galaxy Z Flip devices
-
An AI-powered Portrait Studio for next-level photo editing
-
Interactive lock screen clock that adapts to your wallpaper
-
A redesigned notification and quick panel UI for Galaxy tablets
These are just a few highlights — overall, One UI 8 will feel very familiar to anyone already using One UI 7, but with more intelligence and smoother performance built-in.
