Samsung accused of copying Apple’s new ‘Cosmic Orange’ for Galaxy S26 Ultra

A leaked image and a report from a well-known tipster suggest that Samsung may be planning to imitate Apple’s new “Cosmic Orange” color, recently introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro.

This week, an image surfaced online claiming to show dummy units of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, revealing both the device’s design and its potential new color options. The alleged units are seen in silver, light gold, and a striking orange hue that — for lack of a better comparison — looks almost identical to Apple’s “Cosmic Orange.”

The authenticity of the image is difficult to confirm, particularly since the devices shown are said to be dummies. However, there are no major red flags that outright discredit it. The one odd detail is a cropped watermark in the lower corner of the silver phone photo, which resembles those found on images generated by Gemini AI. It’s also unclear whether the Reddit post sharing the leak is the original source, though it appears to be the earliest known instance.

In short, take this leak with a pinch of salt — it may not reflect Samsung’s final plans.

Adding weight to the possibility of an orange Galaxy S26 Ultra is a post by Max Jambor, a reliable leaker, who declared that “orange is the new black — and will be in 2026 too.” Jambor’s track record of cryptic but accurate leaks lends credibility to the idea that Samsung might indeed adopt the new color option.

One of the most upvoted comments, by Wesley Santos, sarcastically summed up the sentiment:

“Oh great, Samsung’s latest innovation: borrowing Apple’s paint swatches. ‘Cosmic Orange’? How bold. How original. 🙄
Meanwhile, I’m still mourning the loss of Prism White from the S10 — elegant, glossy, and actually distinctive. Not every phone needs to look like a traffic cone. Maybe instead of chasing Apple’s leftovers, Samsung could revive something that was truly their own.”

Interestingly, Jambor’s tweet also hints that Samsung might drop the black color option altogether this time, a notable shift for the Galaxy S series.

It’s unclear what official name Samsung will give this new shade, but it’s clearly a play on Apple’s latest color palette. Samsung, like many smartphone makers, has a history of taking design and color cues from Apple, but the timing is particularly conspicuous here — the Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to launch less than six months after the iPhone 17 series.

What do you think of this potential new color direction for Samsung?
