The Starlink Mini is designed to deliver satellite internet on the go, with compact hardware small enough to fit in a backpack. It even comes with a built-in Wi-Fi router and an integrated kickstand.
However, there are a few trade-offs. The smaller dish delivers slower speeds compared to standard Starlink hardware. It’s also limited to use with the Starlink Roam plan, which provides satellite connectivity from multiple locations but costs $165 per month. Users seeking a more budget-friendly option can subscribe to a $50/month plan, though that one comes with a 50GB data cap.
It’s unclear how long the $299 promotion will last. SpaceX previously offered the same deal in mid-May, and it remained available until the end of that month.
The discount might also signal that SpaceX is looking to clear out existing inventory. Earlier this year, the company hinted it was already working on a next-generation Mini model.
Meanwhile, in Australia, SpaceX is running a separate promotion for select customers, offering a “free” Starlink Mini dish — effectively lending the hardware at no additional cost as part of a subscription plan.
