Nationwide Campaign Against the Government Will Be Announced Soon: PTI Leader Omar Ayub

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Umar Ayub has stated that efforts will continue for the restoration of the Constitution and the rule of law in Pakistan, and a nationwide campaign against the government will be announced soon.

A meeting of the Grand Opposition leadership was held under the chairmanship of Mahmood Khan Achakzai in Islamabad to prepare for the rally on August 22. The meeting was attended by Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Umar Ayub, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Shibli Faraz, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza.

The meeting discussed the arrangements and preparations for the August 22 rally in Islamabad, as well as reviewed the current political situation in the country.

The meeting also deliberated on the recent decision of the Islamabad High Court regarding the PTI founder and expressed concern over the role of the government in the parliament.

The leaders of the political parties said that holding a peaceful rally is their constitutional and democratic right. A grand rally will be held in Islamabad on August 22, which will be attended by workers from across the country.

Umar Ayub expressed hope that the administration would not create obstacles in their rally, stating that PTI's rallies have always been peaceful. He reiterated that efforts will continue for the restoration of the Constitution and the rule of law in Pakistan, and a nationwide campaign against the government will be announced soon.

No One Has the Right to Listen to My Private Conversations: Former President Arif Alvi Speaks Out Against Audio Leaks

Former President Arif Alvi has stated that if they wish to invoke Article 6, they can try and fulfill their wish. He said that they have already run 1,500 cases, and they can make more cases. He has always been against audio leaks, and no one has the right to listen to his private conversations.

In an informal conversation with journalists at the Islamabad High Court, former President Arif Alvi was asked about the application of Article 6 regarding the way he dissolved the assembly. In response, Arif Alvi said that if they want to invoke Article 6, they can try and fulfill their wish, as they have already run 1,500 cases and can make more. He said that this attempt would give him a chance as well.

When a journalist mentioned that Justice Qazi Faez Isa had taken his name, stating that he couldn’t set an election date within 90 days, Arif Alvi replied that he has said much about Justice Qazi Faez Isa, and Justice Isa should take note of its importance.

When asked if he is ready for proceedings under Article 6, he responded that he is alive and will stay in Pakistan. He said that Article 6 is a matter of life and death, but he is here to stay.

The former President reiterated that he has always been against audio leaks and that no one has the right to listen to his private conversations.

When asked about the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, Arif Alvi responded, "Insha’Allah, he will be out soon."
