There is no race to become Prime Minister, power should not be a priority: Sharjeel Memon

Senior Sindh Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that there is no race to become the Prime Minister, and power should not be anyone’s priority. Criticizing the PTI founder, he said the founder should apologize to the nation for incidents like May 9. He added that PTI sidelined itself, groupings within the party are now clear, and the founder must open his eyes and recognize the hypocrites around him.

Speaking to the media at Tandojam Rawal House, he said Pakistan has won a great and historic war, and now similar success must be achieved on the economic front.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Pakistan’s global standing—including its passport ranking—has improved, and the country is now aware of the proxy war being waged by enemies. He said our soldiers are fighting day and night against terrorists, and our defense capabilities are strong enough to deliver a humiliating defeat to India.

The senior minister emphasized that power should not be the focus at this time. Instead, the government must work together with the opposition to steer the country out of its current challenges.

Criticizing the former Prime Minister and PTI founder, Memon reiterated that he must apologize to the nation for incidents like May 9. He said PTI has effectively removed itself from the equation and internal groupings within the party are now clearly visible.

He further remarked that everyone is given space in politics, and mistakes are made by all. However, the PTI founder needs to open his eyes and recognize the double-faced individuals around him.

Speaking about the Sindh government, he said that the Chief Minister has put all departments on alert in light of potential floods and heavy rainfall. Expressing strong concerns over the electricity crisis, Memon said unconstitutional load-shedding of up to 20 hours is taking place in Hyderabad, and the entire public is being punished for it.

He added that DISCOs (distribution companies) are performing poorly, and the government must rein them in and provide relief to the common people. If electricity theft is happening in any area, those responsible should be punished instead of imposing collective punishment on all.

Sharjeel Memon concluded by saying that the region urgently needs peace, as war is not a solution but a destructive path. Blocking roads for protests has become a trend, which causes inconvenience to the general public. The government must ensure the rule of law and safeguard the basic rights of citizens.
