Nothing Phone 3 Leak: A Major Evolution—Even Without the Top-Tier Chip

Nothing Phone 3 Leak: A Major Evolution—Even Without the Top-Tier Chip

Nothing’s upcoming Phone 3 has surfaced in a new spec leak, revealing significant upgrades in performance, battery, charging, and camera—despite skipping Qualcomm’s absolute flagship chipset. While the leak source isn’t widely known, their history suggests a decent level of credibility.

Substantial Improvements in Key Areas

The leak indicates that Phone 3 will feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display, a noticeable leap from the 1080p panel on the Phone 2. It even edges out the display on the Phone 3a Pro in size and quality. With its higher resolution and dynamic refresh rate, this screen is expected to offer flagship-level visual fluidity and crispness.

Camera System: From Modest to Massive

The Phone 3 may debut with a triple 50MP camera setup—including a main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a 3x periscope telephoto shooter. That’s a dramatic jump from the dual-lens system of Phone 2, and it places it close to the Phone 3a Pro’s configuration, although that model uses an 8MP ultra-wide instead. A 50MP front camera is also reportedly onboard, eclipsing the previous 32MP sensor on the Phone 2.

Charging Power Goes Nuclear

The battery is also getting a bump, now at 5,150mAh, but the real game-changer is the 100W wired charging—a massive step up from the 45W of the Phone 2 and even the 50W of the 3a Pro. Wireless and reverse wireless charging remain intact, alongside NFC and eSIM support.

Software Longevity: A Big Promise

The Phone 3 is expected to launch with Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, and Nothing is promising extended support: five years of Android updates and seven years of security patches—going well beyond what Phone 2 offered.

Not a Flagship on Paper, But Feels Like One

Even without the elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset (referred to as “Elite” by Qualcomm), Nothing Phone 3 is shaping up to be a well-balanced powerhouse. Its mix of enhanced display, upgraded cameras, ultra-fast charging, and long-term software support makes it one of the company’s most promising devices yet.

Whether this change is welcomed or rejected remains to be seen.

Launch Date & Price

On July 1, the Nothing Phone 3 will be formally introduced. With a strong spec sheet and thoughtful upgrades—despite omitting the absolute flagship chip—it could prove to be a surprise hit in 2025.
