Flood Warning Issued Due to Rain in Balochistan

A flood warning has been issued for several areas of Balochistan due to expected rainfall tonight and tomorrow (Sunday).

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in various regions of Balochistan, stating that areas including Chagai, Nushki, Kharan, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, and Quetta may face flood-like conditions due to the downpour tonight and on Sunday.

Experts have warned that road closures and slippery conditions in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, and Qila Saifullah may disrupt traffic flow. Residents and travelers in these areas are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on weather conditions.

The weather forecast indicates moderate rainfall is likely between January 18 and 20 in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chagai, Nushki, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Zhob, Musakhel, Kharan, Kech, Panjgur, and Gwadar.

The Meteorological Department further stated that most areas of the country will experience cold and dry conditions tomorrow (Sunday), with severe cold expected in the northern regions.

Rain and snowfall, accompanied by strong winds, are likely in northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Potohar Region, Kashmir, Murree, and Galiyat.

Experts have also predicted fog during the morning and night in several districts of Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Meteorological Department reported that during the past 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry across most parts of the country. Severe cold prevailed in mountainous areas, and the sky was partially cloudy. Moderate fog was reported in several districts of Punjab and upper Sindh.
