Nawaz Sharif's three most successful initiatives for the people of Pakistan

 

Below we look at the initiatives of the Nawaz Sharif that can be considered its achievements.

National Action Plan to End Terrorism

After the attack on the Army Public School in December 2014, an all-party conference was convened to formulate a national strategy against terrorism.

At the conference, all political parties unanimously approved the formulation of a National Action Plan to eradicate terrorism.

After which military courts were established in the National Assembly through a constitutional amendment. Although this National Action Plan could not be fully implemented, it was definitely an important step towards improving law and order in the country.

In Karachi, a Rangers-led operation was launched against miscreants in consultation with political parties, after which the law and order situation in the city improved.

Energy and development projects

After winning the election, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced important plans for economic development and reform. In April 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Pakistan. He not only addressed a joint sitting of parliament but also announced a 46 46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

Over the past five years, the country has seen rapid work on infrastructure and energy projects. Several projects including Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway, Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Lahore Metro Bus, Lahore Orange Line project, LNG import project were completed.

Integration of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Under the PML-N, the British-era FCR in the tribal areas was abolished, and in consultation with political parties, the government approved a constitutional amendment to introduce reforms in FATA and integrate it into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After the integration of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seats in the Provincial Assembly were allocated for FATA.

Special funds have been given to FATA for development in the tribal areas and all laws under the Constitution of Pakistan will now apply to the tribal areas.
