An investigation has revealed that items at Utility Stores, which were established for public convenience, are being sold at higher prices than in open markets.
According to the documentation, all types of rice at Utility Stores are being sold at a higher price compared to the open market. Super Basmati rice is being sold at Utility Stores for 15 rupees more than in the open market.
The price of Super Basmati rice at Utility Stores is 320 rupees, while the same rice is available in the market for 305 rupees.
At Utility Stores, Tota Basmati rice priced at 212 rupees is being sold for 225 rupees. Sela rice, priced at 306 rupees, is being sold for 345 rupees at Utility Stores, which is 38.58 rupees more expensive than the open market.
The price difference for a 20 kg bag of flour at Utility Stores has reached up to 956 rupees. A 20 kg bag of flour is being sold for 2740 rupees at Utility Stores, while in the open market, the same bag is available for 1784 rupees.
In the open market, a 40 kg bag of flour is priced at 3568 rupees, whereas at Utility Stores, it is being sold for 5480 rupees.
Sugar at Utility Stores is being sold for about 12 rupees more than in the open market. Sugar is available at Utility Stores for 155 rupees per kg, while in the open market, it is priced at 143 rupees per kg.
