The redesign specifically targets two main tiles. The event title and length are now displayed inside a rounded container in the "Next Event" tile, which can also include themed images. The date label (like “Today”) appears prominently at the top, and the "Calendar" button is now integrated smoothly into the bottom curve of the tile.
The “Next Tasks” tile sees only one tweak — a new “More” button has been added. Google Calendar version 2025.30.x for Wear OS includes these changes.
Old vs. New: A Peek at Upcoming Tiles
Meanwhile, updates are also headed to companion tiles on the Pixel Watch. Google Contacts’ “Favorites” tile is getting a design overhaul — instead of circles, your favorite contacts will now appear as pill-shaped avatars. The "Contacts" button has been renamed to “See All.” It’s unclear whether the redesign reduces the visible contact limit from six to four, as the update hasn’t gone live yet.
The individual contact widget also sees a makeover: rather than a small circle, contacts are now shown in larger vertical pill shapes, complete with quick-access buttons for calling and messaging on the right.
Google Keep is also receiving a visual upgrade. The new “Create Note” tile replaces the list format with an elliptical icon for notes and a rounded rectangle for lists, with a “Browse” button located beneath. The “Single Note” tile now places its text content inside a rounded container for a cleaner, more modern appearance.
