A high-level Chinese delegation visited Gwadar today, where they discussed future investment opportunities, developmental programs, and the progress of ongoing projects including the New Gwadar International Airport and the Pak-China Friendship Hospital.
The Chinese delegation, led by Mr. Wang Fukang from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with officials from the Gwadar Port Authority. They also discussed Phase 2 of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Zahoor Buledi, Finance Minister of the Government of Balochistan, Pakistan, welcomed all participants. In the briefing that followed, Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Pasand Khan Buledi highlighted the importance of CPEC for the success of Gwadar Port. Mr. Yu Bo, Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), also shared valuable suggestions with the forum to strengthen trade.
The delegation appreciated and expressed satisfaction with the safety measures for all Chinese employees working on various projects. The visit by the Chinese delegation provided strong assurance, and it is expected that this will play a crucial role in enhancing Pakistan's capacity to address future challenges.
The delegation also visited the South Free Zone and Gwadar Port, emphasizing their significance for future commercial and economic activities.
The 26-member delegation included representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Yang Guangyuan and Mr. Chen Jinji, as well as Pakistani officials Mr. Awais Manzoor Sumra from the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani, and Mr. Sees Zafar Ali Shah from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
