The multi-party conference (MPC) called by the government to show solidarity with the people of Palestine has commenced.
An all-parties conference is being held at the President's House to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif are participating in the MPC.
Additionally, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Aimal Wali Khan, and Yousuf Raza Gillani are also present at the MPC.
On this occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari addressed the gathering, saying, "We witnessed a time during Bhutto's era when the PLO had an office here, and Yasser Arafat used to visit frequently. I personally met Yasser Arafat with Benazir Bhutto."
He said that over a year has passed since Israeli aggression in Palestine and Gaza began, resulting in more than 41,800 Palestinians being martyred and over 100,000 injured.
He further stated that after completely destroying health and education infrastructure and public properties, Israel has now advanced its brutal campaign by targeting innocent civilians in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
Zardari mentioned that with these actions, Israel is not only endangering the peace, stability, and security of the region but also posing a threat to global peace.
He expressed Pakistan's deep concern over the increasing hostilities in the Middle East and strongly condemned Israel's brutalities and aggression against Palestine and Lebanon, as well as the assassinations of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.
He said, "We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon and pray for the brave martyrs."
The President lamented that the international community has completely failed to stop Israel's massacre in Palestine, especially in Gaza, and by doing so, they are promoting a culture of impunity and disregard for international laws.
He emphasized that the people of Palestine and Lebanon deserve to live freely without fear and that the international community must take immediate steps to reduce hostilities.
Asif Ali Zardari called on the global community to take urgent action to stop Israeli aggression to prevent further loss of life and the escalation of the conflict.
He said that Pakistan will continue to raise its voice against Israel's human rights violations and aggression at all global forums, standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
He reiterated that Pakistan believes peace in the Middle East is impossible without a solution to the Palestine issue, as per United Nations Security Council resolutions. Pakistan will continue to support the rights of Palestinians and the two-state solution, which guarantees lasting peace in the region.
Zardari emphasized that Pakistan's policy remains firm on the complete withdrawal of Israel from occupied Arab lands, including Jerusalem, and the restoration of Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Following Zardari's speech, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif shared his thoughts, stating that atrocities are being committed against the poor Palestinians despite them having no military power, which is one of the worst examples in history.
He said, "It breaks my heart to see the bloodied bodies of Palestinian children and cities turned into ruins. The way innocent children are being killed in front of their parents and children are martyred from their mothers' arms—this level of brutality we have never seen before."
Nawaz Sharif added that the world has adopted an unusual policy of silence. It does not view this as a humanitarian issue but instead as a religious one.
Sharif further stated that Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine makes it seem as though the United Nations is completely helpless, and no action is being taken on its own resolutions. "It's tragic that, despite these resolutions, the situation persists. Israel continues its work with impunity, and it seems the UN has no concern."
He questioned the usefulness of the United Nations, which, despite being a significant global body, cannot enforce its resolutions. He pointed out that UN resolutions on Kashmir have also not been implemented, making the UN ineffective in delivering justice or preventing oppression.
Sharif expressed confidence that the blood of the Palestinians will bear fruit and urged further discussions on the roadmap proposed by Shehbaz Sharif. He called on Islamic countries to unite and take decisive action, as they possess great power. "If we do not use this strength now, then when?"
The former Prime Minister stressed that a policy must be developed; otherwise, they would continue to witness the bloodshed of children and the martyrdom of mothers, sisters, and parents without being able to act. He pointed out that Israel acts freely because of the global powers backing it, and those powers should consider how long they will continue to test the patience of the Islamic world and the people of Palestine.
He urged that recommendations should be made and the Islamic world should be approached to play an active role because the people of Pakistan want decisive action.
