According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two-day conference included corps commanders, principal staff officers, and all formation commanders of the Pakistan Army. The event commenced with prayers for the martyrs.
The forum paid homage to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens for peace and stability, including those martyred in recent violent protests in Islamabad.
Condemnation of Human Rights Violations
The forum condemned India’s human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people. The participants also expressed solidarity with Palestinians, denouncing atrocities in Gaza and supporting international legal actions to end military aggression in the region.
The conference reviewed the current internal and external security environment, assessing operational readiness to address traditional and unconventional threats. Comprehensive analysis of counter-terrorism operations was conducted, with a particular focus on neutralizing terrorist networks such as the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other destabilizing elements.
Concerns Over Propaganda Against Military Deployment
The ISPR highlighted concerns about malicious propaganda against the military’s deployment in Islamabad to secure critical government buildings and visiting foreign delegations. The forum termed such efforts as part of a broader narrative by certain political elements to sow discord between the armed forces, institutions, and the public. It reiterated that these external and internal propaganda campaigns would not succeed.
The participants called for identifying and prosecuting individuals spreading fake news, terming it a necessity of the times. They also stressed that stringent measures be taken against the misuse of Afghan soil by terrorist groups targeting Pakistan, urging the Afghan interim government to take decisive steps in preventing such activities.
Economic Development and Stability
The forum reaffirmed support for government initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth, cracking down on illegal activities, and dismantling the nexus between terrorism and organized crime.
COAS Emphasizes Professional Readiness
General Syed Asim Munir underlined the importance of professional excellence, operational preparedness, and unshakable resolve to overcome challenges to national security and stability.
Background Context
The conference occurred amid heightened security concerns following violent incidents, including an attack on Rangers personnel in Islamabad. The Army was deployed under Article 245 to maintain order, with strict instructions to counter subversive elements.
These measures reflect the Army's commitment to upholding peace and stability in the face of ongoing security challenges.
