Reacting to Chaudhry Manzoor’s press conference, Uzma Bukhari remarked, “Sindh claims the water belongs to them, while you say it belongs to Punjab. The PPP should first decide among themselves whose water it actually is.”
Addressing Chaudhry Manzoor, she questioned, “Can’t you fight for Punjab’s interests while living in Punjab?” She further added that politicizing canal issues has always been Sindh’s approach, but Punjab does not follow the same practice. She advised PPP to first ensure that farmers actually support them before claiming to stand with them.
Uzma Bukhari emphasized that Punjab neither snatches anyone’s rights nor allows its own rights to be taken, as it has always played the role of a big brother.
She suggested that instead of criticizing the controversial canal project and questioning Punjab’s Chief Minister, PPP should ask the President of Pakistan. She also warned PPP against turning internal disputes into media controversies.
