The global forum, based in Seoul, South Korea, is dedicated to promoting parliamentary dialogue worldwide, advancing sustainable development goals, and strengthening international cooperation on key global challenges such as climate change, renewable energy, and water scarcity.
Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani was nominated for this prestigious position during his recent successful visit to Kuala Lumpur, where he attended a special briefing regarding the upcoming ISC session.
The formal ceremony for this nomination will take place during the International Summit 2025 in Seoul, organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF). The event will host 500 delegates and 45 parliamentary speakers from 150 countries.
Yousuf Raza Gilani was also presented with a special award in recognition of his role in parliamentary diplomacy and his efforts for global peace and development. His nomination not only strengthens Pakistan’s international parliamentary standing but also promotes regional parliamentary cooperation and dialogue.
During his speech at the briefing session, Yousuf Raza Gilani stated that the ISC is not just a conference but an international vision based on interdependence, shared prosperity, and global values.
He emphasized three priority areas: climate change, renewable energy, and water scarcity.
Urging global parliamentary leadership, he stressed the need to transform shared ideas into policy initiatives to achieve global peace, regional stability, and sustainable development.
He further stated that the ISC will serve as an effective platform for parliamentary collaboration, policymaking, and diplomatic partnerships at the global level.

Following the meeting, the Malaysian Speaker hosted a dinner in honor of the distinguished guests. Similarly, Pakistan's Ambassador, Syed Ahsan Raza, also hosted a special dinner in honor of Chairman Gilani.
