According to the family, the police have shown apathy in delivering justice, and the station house officer (SHO) is maintaining criminal silence to protect his subordinates.
SHO Khalid Abbasi of the SITE Super Highway police station has been accused of sheltering the suspected police officers involved in the shooting. The family demands that the police stop protecting their colleagues and instead ensure justice by arresting the child’s killers.
Initially, the police denied that any of their officers were involved in the killing. However, the family strongly rejected this claim, saying, “We saw seven-year-old Sadaf get hit by police bullets, yet they are still protecting their own.”
Despite orders from the Sindh Inspector General and the Karachi Police Chief, the police have delayed filing a case, further complicating the situation. The family says they are being forced to wander in search of justice and will not tolerate the police’s negligence and delay.
