Apple Music 5.0 Brings iOS 26 Features to Android

Apple Music 5.0 Brings iOS 26 Features to Android

After a month of beta testing, Apple Music version 5.0 has officially rolled out on the stable channel, following last week’s release of iOS 26.

This update delivers three of iOS 26’s biggest features to Android:

  1. Pinned Library Items
Users can now pin songs, albums, playlists, and artists to the top of the Library tab for quick access. A new Pin button appears at the top of various three-dot overflow menus throughout the app.

    • Pinned items display in a grid view.

    • Long-pressing allows you to unpin or customize the tap action (e.g., play album, start playlist, shuffle, etc.).

    • Pins sync across all Apple devices (Mac, iPad, etc.) for a consistent experience.

    • Pins can also be set to auto-download for offline playback, though this can be toggled off in settings.

  2. Lyrics Translation and Transcription
Apple introduces real-time lyrics translation and pronunciation support, letting you “understand the lyrics and sing along in multiple languages.” In settings, under the Lyrics menu display options, you can choose where translated lines appear when both original and translated lyrics are shown.
Apple notes that the feature is powered by machine learning refined by language experts, ensuring that “emotion, cultural context, and lyrical intent are faithfully preserved.”

  3. Replay Stats
The Replay feature now lets you easily check month-by-month stats and year-end summaries directly within the app—no need to wait for annual recaps.

What’s Not Included

The much-discussed AutoMix feature—an AI-powered system that analyzes audio to create seamless transitions between tracks with beat-matching and time-stretching—is not part of this release.

Design Changes

The overall UI remains the same, with the familiar five-tab bottom bar and mini-player. The update does not introduce the rumored “liquid glass” redesign. However, certain UI elements—like shuffle, repeat, and autoplay buttons—are now pill-shaped instead of rounded rectangles.

Availability
Apple Music 5.0 is rolling out via the Google Play Store. Beta testers will automatically be upgraded to the stable release.
