Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Takes Notice of Corruption and Abuse of Power Allegations in PPRA

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the brutal attack by Israel on a school in Gaza.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the elevation of the ranks of those martyred in the attack on the school in Gaza and expressed condolences to their families.

The Prime Minister stated that Israel has crossed all limits with its barbaric actions. The attack on schoolchildren is an open act of aggression, and such brutality is unprecedented in history.

The Prime Minister called on the international community, including the United Nations, to take practical steps to stop Israel's brutality. He reiterated the demand that the Israeli leadership and security forces be brought to justice for the genocide and war crimes against Palestinians.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Israel should be severely punished for its cruel actions, and the International Court of Justice's ruling against Israel should be enforced.

The Prime Minister added that Pakistan will continue to provide moral and diplomatic support to its Palestinian brothers and sisters on every front.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Takes Notice of Corruption and Abuse of Power Allegations in PPRA

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the allegations of corruption and abuse of power in the Federal Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

The Cabinet Division, following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's directives, has instructed that the matter be presented to the PPRA Board. In a letter, the Cabinet Division recommended that action be taken by the PPRA Authority.

The letter stated that the Prime Minister's Office received multiple complaints of serious allegations against PPRA officers. These officers are accused of misuse of power, corruption, and bias.

The letter noted that the PPRA GRC Committee is deciding procurement cases in favor of contractors, leading to losses of billions of rupees to the national treasury. Most of these cases are related to the NHA, PWD, and the energy sector.

The letter from the Cabinet Division also listed the names of PPRA officers against whom serious allegations have been made. These officers include Muhammad Khurshid, Ali Taimoor, Yasir Shameem Khan, Shehryar Masood, Abdul Nabi, Ateeq Haider Baig, Asma Shaheen, Muhammad Nadeem, Tariq Javed Khan, and Maqbool Ahmed Gondal.

The letter further stated that PPRA officers have also received unnecessary honoraria from World Bank loan funds. The entire matter should be presented to the PPRA Board, which should take action and inform the Prime Minister's Office.
