In his Eid message, Maulana Fazlur Rehman extended greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah, praying that Allah continues to bless them with such joyous occasions and accept their prayers and worship.
He expressed concern that while Muslims celebrate Eid, many of their brothers, sisters, elders, and children around the world continue to suffer due to oppression. He particularly condemned the ongoing Israeli brutality against the people of Gaza, which persisted even during the sacred month of Ramadan.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described Muslims as a single body—if one part suffers, the entire body feels the pain. He expressed solidarity with all oppressed Muslims worldwide.
The JUI chief also urged people to remember the needy, the poor, and those in distress during this time of joy, as caring for others aligns with Islamic teachings.
He lamented that Ramadan saw the tragic martyrdom of several scholars and party leaders. In their memory, special Quran recitations will be held on Eid for their souls.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman advised citizens to remain vigilant during Eid prayers and gatherings, cooperate with security agencies, and take precautions due to the prevailing law and order situation.
Lastly, he encouraged people to celebrate Eid with simplicity, avoid unnecessary expenses, and refrain from extravagance. He prayed for Allah’s protection and blessings upon all.
