Dr. Lodhi noted that the way Trump humiliated and scolded his Ukrainian counterpart is unprecedented in history. Such behavior towards a head of state has never been witnessed before. The issue is that Trump wants a deal to end the war—but does Russia also want the war to end?
She added that more than a dozen European countries will be represented at the summit in London on Sunday. The key question is: What stance will Europe take there? Will it show unity, or will it set conditions that Trump will be willing to accept? The answer will become clear in a few hours.
Dr. Lodhi further stated that Trump's statements suggest that any peace agreement will be on Russia’s terms. His remarks have created the impression that Russia will not have to make any concessions in a potential deal. The details are not yet clear, but for now, it seems that the U.S. president has completely disregarded Europe's perspective on this matter.
Ayaz Latif Palijo Raises Alarm Over Water Crisis
President of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Ayaz Latif Palijo, has stated that Kotri Barrage is currently drying up, while the sea is encroaching upon Karachi, Sujawal, Badin, and Thatta. He highlighted that six canals are designated for Punjab, yet there is no water in the system, and the world is facing a severe water crisis.
He further said that fertile land in Sindh is being abandoned while barren land in Cholistan is being cultivated. Green agricultural lands are being turned into plots, and the federal government has never implemented its agreements in the past.
Palijo also claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the federal government are working together, and the entire canal system is being managed with the consent of Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari. He accused the PPP of bargaining away Sindh's resources for political gains in the next federal government. The province is currently facing a famine-like situation, and Sindh is being left at the mercy of the sea.
