Google Clock Disappears From Wear OS for Some Smartwatches

The Google Clock app, once compatible with all Wear OS devices, is now no longer available on certain smartwatches. If you’re using a Samsung Galaxy Watch or a OnePlus wearable, you might notice that you can’t download it anymore.

Over the past few weeks, Wear OS users have been reporting that the Google Clock app has suddenly vanished from the Play Store on their devices. The change only affects certain models, but social media has seen a steady stream of complaints highlighting the issue.

According to reports from Reddit, Google’s support forums, and the Play Store listing, the problem has persisted for about three weeks. Many users say the app they once had installed is now completely unavailable.

One frustrated Galaxy Watch owner left a review on the Play Store saying:

“The Google Clock app was previously installed on my Galaxy Watch 6, which I recently reset. I am unable to reinstall it on my watch at this time. I do not know why. Hopefully, this is merely a bug that Google will soon resolve.”

So far, the problem appears to be limited mainly to Samsung Galaxy Watch and OnePlus smartwatches. Interestingly, Pixel Watch users have reported no issues, suggesting that Google isn’t discontinuing the app entirely — at least not yet.

This situation closely mirrors another recent move by Google. Around the same time these reports began, the company announced it would end support for the Google Weather app on third-party smartwatches, explaining:

“Since many popular watch brands now offer their own built-in weather apps, we will no longer provide Google’s weather app on Wear OS 6+ devices.”

It’s possible Google is taking a similar approach with its Clock app, as most third-party smartwatch brands already provide their own clock and alarm solutions. However, if that’s the case, Google hasn’t explained it — which is unusual, given how transparent it was about the weather app decision.

For now, your only options are to continue using the default clock app that came with your smartwatch or to install a third-party alternative that isn’t developed by Google.
