Google Pixel’s Rope Wrist Strap Is a Fun, Colorful, and Delightfully Simple Accessory

One of the newest additions to Google’s Pixel accessory lineup is a playful “rope” wrist strap that attaches directly to your phone case. It’s a cheerful, practical little add-on that works surprisingly well — even if it’s slightly on the bulky side.

Shortly after the launch of the Pixel 10 series, Google quietly rolled out this new wrist strap on the Google Store. Available in three colors, the “Rope Wrist Strap” is designed to let you wear your phone on your wrist — and all you need for it to work is a compatible case.

Installing it is about as simple as it gets:

  1. Remove your case.

  2. Insert the small tab into the USB-C port cutout.

  3. Snap the case back on.

Once in place, the strap’s clip securely holds your phone. It’s an elegantly simple design, and it works flawlessly with my Pixel 10 Pro XL and Google’s official case. That said, smaller devices can be a bit trickier — when I tried it on my wife’s Pixel 10 Pro, the case stretched more than it did on my XL model, which could affect the fit.

Surprisingly Comfortable — and Surprisingly Stylish

Once attached, the wrist strap works like a charm. The rope itself is soft and comfortable, and I particularly love the playful color options — the purple and green variants are especially eye-catching. (I skipped the black version, but even that one includes a small splash of color.)

In terms of security, the strap feels solid and stable, though much of that depends on how snugly the case fits. As mentioned, the looser fit on smaller Pixel models could be a concern, but a case with tighter coverage should resolve that. This is likely why Google explicitly states that the accessory doesn’t work with Pixel Fold devices — their cases don’t provide enough grip around the USB-C port for the strap to stay fully secure.

A Minor Flaw: Bulkiness

My only real complaint? The rope is thick enough to be noticeable, especially when you’re not actively wearing it. It tends to bulge awkwardly in your pocket, which can feel a little inconvenient.

But at just $7, that’s a small price to pay. It’s a fun, low-cost accessory that adds a dash of personality to your Pixel — and I hope Google keeps experimenting with more accessories like this in the future.

Unfortunately, the rope strap is currently sold out. So the question is: Will you grab one when it’s back in stock?
