All Pakistan Traders Association announces nationwide protest against expensive electricity

The All Pakistan Traders Association (APT) has announced a nationwide protest on August 29 and a shutter down strike on August 31 against the increase in electricity prices and hefty bills.

APT President Ajmal Baloch and other officials held a press conference during which they announced a nationwide protest on August 29 and a shutter down strike and wheel jam on August 31.

It is to be noted that the series of protests by the people against the increase in electricity prices and hefty bills is continuing. Even on the holiday, people in different cities of the country recorded their protest against expensive electricity.

During the press conference, APT President Ajmal Baloch said that the situation has gone beyond inflation and is close to devastation. The 16-month government caused devastation and also legislated for the caretakers.

Ajmal Baloch said that rulers use a suit worth 5 lakh and a car worth 10 crores, but the blame for tax evasion falls on the traders. He questioned that it is a joke to end free electricity for big Wapda officers, why electricity is free for the rest of the employees?

He demanded that the caretaker Prime Minister, who showed people the way to leave the country, should apologize.

It is worth mentioning that the Central Traders Association of Pakistan has also announced a nationwide protest day on August 29, terming the increase in electricity bills as cruel.

Central Traders Association President Kashif Chaudhry said in a press conference in Islamabad that it is no longer possible for traders to keep the business going. Every citizen of the country has defaulted, the situation is indicating civil disobedience.
