The federal government has approved the jail trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the new Toshakhana case, and the Ministry of Law has issued the notification for the jail trial.
The federal government issued the jail trial notification for the new reference of the Toshakhana case under Section 16B of the NAB Ordinance 1999.
According to the Ministry of Law, the trial in the new Toshakhana case will be conducted in jail for security reasons.
The notification for the jail trial of the new Toshakhana reference states that considering the law and order situation, the NAB court, if deemed necessary, will conduct the trial of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in jail.
The lawyers of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been informed about the jail trial notification.
A NAB team led by Deputy Director NAB Mohsin Paroo reached Adiala Jail.
Meanwhile, in the new reference of the Toshakhana case, the NAB team, led by Deputy Director NAB Mohsin Paroo, reached Adiala Jail for the remand of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
The NAB team entered Adiala Jail through gate number 5 and reached Adiala Jail for the physical remand of the accused in Toshakhana Reference 2.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich will hear the remand case of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi today in Adiala Jail.
In this regard, Accountability Court Islamabad Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich also reached Adiala Jail to hear the case.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi's lawyers, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Rai Muhammad Ali, Advocate Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, and Usman Gul also reached Adiala Jail.
According to the NAB inquiry report, the new case is related to unlawfully keeping and selling ten valuable gifts, including seven watches.
It should be noted that yesterday NAB arrested Imran Khan and his wife immediately after they were granted bail in the Nikah during Iddat case, in a new reference of Toshakhana.
According to NAB sources, PTI founder and Bushra Bibi were arrested in the new Toshakhana reference. As Prime Minister, Imran Khan and his wife received gifts from Toshakhana, obtained them at low prices, and sold them at high prices.
Earlier, when the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, and other PTI leaders reached the gate of Adiala Jail, they were informed about the arrest of the former Prime Minister and his wife in the new reference.
Rawalpindi Police removed Omar Ayub and other PTI leaders from the gate of Adiala Jail.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday the Islamabad District and Sessions Court accepted the appeals against the sentences in the Nikah during Iddat case, annulled the seven-year sentences for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, and ordered their acquittal in the case.
