Over the past week, several Google Pixel owners, particularly those using the Pixel 9 series, have reported that their alarms are not activating as scheduled. While user error is always a possibility when it comes to alarms, the number of reports suggests this may be a widespread issue.
The problem first gained attention on March 20, when Reddit threads filled with dozens of complaints about missed alarms. Some users reported alarms failing to ring or going off late, while others saw a notification stating the alarm was "unable to fire." According to Android Police, some users suspect Google’s Gemini AI might be involved—potentially a bug that, when asked to turn off one alarm or timer, mistakenly disables all alarms.
With multiple theories and varying symptoms, pinpointing the exact cause remains challenging. Some speculate it could be linked to the latest Clock app update, which started rolling out earlier this month, but no definitive cause has been identified yet.
