Government offers JUI the post of Deputy Chairman Senate

The government offered the opposition Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) the post of Deputy Chairman Senate.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and discussed the political situation in the country and the election of Chairman Senate.

Talking to media after the meeting, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak said that we have offered Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri to become our Deputy Chairman Senate.

Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was asked whether he was nominated for the post of Deputy Chairman. "I have not yet been formally notified by the PDM," he said.

He said that Sadiq Sanjarani is our chairman, we meet him regularly but I cannot say who will be the chairman of the senate after March 12.
