The federal government has intensified its oversight of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration. Former Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has been appointed as Interior Advisor, while Ikhtiar Wali has been given the position of KP Advisor. Both will be stationed in Peshawar, maintaining close coordination with the police and security agencies.
The federal government has ramped up its involvement in KP’s affairs, with Pervez Khattak overseeing law and order in the province. His office will be based in Peshawar, where he will work closely with law enforcement and security institutions.
Meanwhile, former PML-N MPA Ikhtiar Wali has also been appointed as an advisor and dispatched to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He will serve as the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information from the province.
According to sources, more federal appointees are expected to take on key roles, with PML-N members in the KP Assembly likely to be accommodated in various capacities.
