Fitbit App Redesigns Health Metrics UI on Android and iOS

After revamping the Water Status page on Android, Fitbit has now redesigned the Health Metrics interface, offering a more seamless and native experience.

What’s Changed?

Previously, the Health Metrics section felt more like a web page than an integrated app experience. Google has now addressed this issue with a fresh, improved UI.

  • The Today Feed card remains unchanged, but Fitbit has introduced a new introductory screen explaining how your health metrics compare to your personal range.

  • The previous two-tab layout (Today & Trends) is gone. Instead, there’s a single Today page displaying a gauge for five key metrics along with an "X out of 5" counter.

  • Below, a detailed list format showcases:

    • Breathing Rate (BR)

    • Blood Oxygen (SpO2)

    • Resting Heart Rate (RHR)

    • Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

    • Skin Temperature Changes

New Trend Charts

Tapping on any metric opens an interactive trend chart with views for:
📆 Week | 📆 Month | 📆 Year
These now extend beyond the previous 7, 30, and 90-day limitations, offering a broader historical view. Each metric also includes a brief explanation for better understanding.

A Modernized Experience

This redesign brings a modern and polished look to the Health Metrics section, now available for iOS (v4.39) and Android. However, the rollout on Android is still limited, as Fitbit’s app was recently migrated to Google LLC’s developer account.

With this update, users are now eagerly anticipating a revamped Food Logging UI. Once that’s in place, a Dark Mode option may also be introduced, as these new interfaces appear to be designed with that in mind.
